Australian Celebrity Chefs on Cruise Ships | On Board Credit Giveaway!
Today we have a guest post by Sophie from cruiseagency.com.au. Please note this is a sponsored post:
Australian travellers love a cruise – there’s no doubt about that. We’re also a nation of foodies, which means we’re always after the best cuisine – both on land and at sea! Fortunately, our love of holiday voyages and fine food combine on many Aussie-based cruise ships, where you can find restaurants from some of the world’s biggest celebrity chefs. This even includes a few home-grown celeb offerings from the likes of Curtis Stone and Luke Mangan.
The culinary choices on a cruise can be overwhelming, so you might like to contact a cruise specialist such as Cruise Agency to help you decide which voyage is best for your next holiday. In the meantime, though, let’s take a look at the best offerings from Aussie celebrity chefs on cruise ships.
Curtis Stone, Princess Cruises
You’d be hard-pressed to find someone who doesn’t recognise Curtis Stone. Not only is he the face of Coles supermarkets, he’s also made hundreds of TV appearances, has his own kitchen product line, and owns a restaurant in Beverly Hills. The good news for Aussie cruisers is that he’s now branching out into cruise cuisine with Princess Cruises.
SHARE by Curtis Stone is a beautifully designed restaurant that aims to bring people together over an intimate shared meal. Dishes are served home-style at long, communal tables, encouraging diners to chat, bond, and generally enjoy food and life together. SHARE is available on Ruby, Emerald and Sun Princess ships.
For those who enjoy the fine dining experience, there’s Chef’s Table by Curtis Stone, also available on Ruby Princess and Emerald Princess. The whole experience has been designed by Chef Stone, including a champagne tour of the galley and a special multi-course meal.
And finally, if you’re eating in the main dining room of any Princess ship, you’ll be able to sample new menu items designed specially by Stone with the new ‘Crafted by Curtis’ selection.
Luke Mangan, P&O Cruises
Here’s another Aussie chef and restauranteur, Luke Mangan, who’s taken his food to the high seas. Found on all five of P&O’s ships, Mangan’s Salt grill is an ocean-bound version of his famous land-based restaurants. There’s fresh seafood and local produce, high-class high teas, and exclusive signature dishes from Mangan himself.
Bonus Celeb Chef: Jamie Oliver, Royal Caribbean
OK, so he might not be Australian, but Jamie Oliver is a big enough deal on our shores that he had to get a mention here! The lovable Brit has an exclusive partnership with Royal Caribbean, whose newest ship, Ovation of the Seas, is due to debut in Sydney at the end of this year. You’ll find the famous Jamie’s Italian aboard Ovation, where rustic, hearty fare is the name of the game.
Are you hungry yet? Perhaps a cruise might be on the horizon for your next holiday…
